The Time prefs should be in sys:prefs, IPrefs does all the work including
getting the time from the Battery-backed clock and setting the time
(SetClock
used to do this)

Maybe that when you set the time, you haven`t left the machine on for long
enough for the date/time to stay!

No they should have got the CD software with their CDROM! There are free
CDFS`
about such as AmiCDFS and AmiCDROM and commercial such as AsimCDFS!
